Blessing of the Crib: This beautiful Advent tradition was revived by Pope St. John Paul II. We invite you to share in the spirit of that tradition in your own home by gathering the family around the Crib and praying the following blessing: “We ask God to bless our Baby Jesus figure.+ May the protection of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph protect us all. Let this Crib in our home remind us that Jesus was born in a stable at Bethlehem. May Jesus bless all our families this year with joy and peace. When we pray at our family Crib this Christmas may we be thankful for the gift of each other. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.”

Christmas Church Decorations: Sincere thanks to all involved in the erection of the Cribs in both churches and also to the Altar Societies who do wonderful work right through the year. Your work gives glory and praise to God and helps us all to enter into the true spirit of Christmas.

Christmas Hope.

We turn to you God of Hope at this time.

You never stop believing in us.

Help us to always believe in you.

Awaken in me a keener awareness of your life within my being.

Help me to see you in the everyday things around me.

May we know that you are always present offering assurance that you care for all of us.

Show us Lord how you are dwelling often in the unlikely places in our lives.

Inspire us to always find something to believe in and hold on to.

We thank you for your countless blessings.

Build up our hope during this season of Christmas and help us to share it with all those we meet.

God of Hope guide all our steps.

Amen.
