This beautiful Advent tradition was revived by Pope St. John Paul II. We invite you to share in the spirit of that tradition in your own home by gathering the family around the Crib and praying the following blessing:
“We ask God to bless our Baby Jesus figure.+ May the protection of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph protect us all. Let this Crib in our home remind us that Jesus was born in a stable at Bethlehem. May Jesus bless all our families this year with joy and peace. When we pray at our family Crib this Christmas may we be thankful for the gift of each other. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.”
