Re-opening of Churches in the Archdiocese: Archbishop Kieran O’Reilly, following consultation with the bishops of Munster, has decided that all churches will re-open for private prayer beginning on Monday 18 May. It is hoped that the celebration of daily Mass will resume shortly thereafter. Physical distancing and other measures will, naturally, remain in place for reasons of safety. Your cooperation will be appreciated. Further details, as they become available, will be published in the coming weeks.

Listening Process in the Archdiocese: Feedback is now invited to the Draft Pastoral Plan. Many people from the parish participated in preparatory meetings over the past year and more. As gatherings of people are not possible for now, please look at the plan through this link: Draft Pastoral Plan March 2020 – Final version March 6. This is linked at www.cashel-emly.ie>Pastoral Resources >Listening Process. Details of how to comment are given there. Your support will be most appreciated.

First Holy Communion: children attending at Dualla NS and Little Flower NS, Ballytarsna, were due to receive their First Holy Communion on Saturday 16 May at Dualla church. A rescheduled date must await the lifting of the Covid-19 restrictions. In the meantime, especially this week, we remember in prayer the children and their families.

Collections: Sincere thanks to all who sent in Collection contributions. We are very grateful for your generosity and loyalty.

Thanks from Fr. Egan and Fr. Dunne: For the past number of weeks we have greatly missed joining with you in church for prayer and liturgy. We also miss your friendship and the community spirit that we all enjoy each weekend. Let us journey in hope, thankful for the goodness and generosity that have become so evident in this period of restrictions. Let us together look forward to better days, trusting that God’s love and peace nourish us always.

Devotion to Our Lady: Mary is a sign of hope because what she has done we can do, for in a certain sense we are all Mary. She is a consolation because in her humanity Mary had her doubts and hesitations; she had her moments of concern for a Son who was not in the ordinary mould; her grief was real and her tears bitter in the face of her child’s apparently senseless death. We pray therefore: Holy Spirit of God, help us to know and love Mary; Holy Mary, pray for us that we may be able to enter in love into the mystery of God through the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Prayer to Our Lady of Knock

Our Lady of Knock, Queen of Ireland,

you gave hope to your people in a time of distress and comforted them in sorrow.

You have inspired countless pilgrims to pray with confidence to your divine Son, remembering His promise, “Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find.”

Help me to remember that we are all pilgrims on the road to heaven.

Fill me with love and concern for my brothers and sisters in Christ, especially those who live with me.

Comfort me when I am sick, lonely or depressed.

Teach me how to take part ever more reverently in the Holy Mass.

Give me a greater love for Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.

Pray for me now, and at the hour of my death. Amen.
