Monday 1st Jan. is the Feast of Mary, Mother of God. It is also World Day of Prayer for Peace.
Tuesday 2nd Jan. is the Feast of Sts. Basil and Gregory, saints of the 4th century.
Wednesday 3rd Jan. is the Feast of The Holy Name of Jesus. It is also the Feast of St. Munchin, patron saint of Limerick diocese.
Friday 5th Jan. is the Feast of St. Charles of St. Andrew. John Andrew Houben, a Dutch Passionist priest who spent most of his life in Mount Argus in Dublin ministering to the poor. He was canonised in 2007.
First Friday: Next Friday is the First Friday of January. I will make the usual calls on Thursday and Friday. If you know of anyone who would appreciate a call, please let me know.

Feast of the Epiphany: Next Saturday, January 6th, is the Feast of the Epiphany. The vigil Mass for the Feast will be in Dualla on Friday evening at 6.30pm. The weekend Masses are unchanged.
Boherlahan-Dualla End of Year Parish Report: The annual Parish Report was distributed recently. In the Report you will find the Parish Calendar, the End of Year Letter, the Annual Financial Statement and a packet of envelopes for each week or a single envelope incorporating all collections. I express my sincere and heartfelt thanks for your support, your friendship and your loyalty. If you are new to the parish and would like to receive a copy of the Parish Report, please let us know and we will send it to you.
Ardmayle Heritage Society: The Ardmayle Heritage Society’s 2024 Calendar is now on sale. The Calendar may be had from Pat Maher at 086-1690333 or from any member of the Society. The Calendar will also be on sale after Mass this Sunday in Boherlahan. Price: €10.
New Year Good Wishes and Thanks: I want to express my sincere thanks to all who have helped in so many different ministries in the parish during last year. I am indeed very grateful for the friendship, support and cooperation I receive from so many people. As Christian people we believe in Community. We work together to build up trust, respect and friendship. We have many loyal, committed and dedicated people in our parish and I appreciate you all. I pray that all the parishioners of Boherlahan-Dualla will find, hope, joy and peace during 2024.
A Prayer for the World.
All powerful God, you are present in the universe and in the smallest of your creatures. You embrace with your tenderness all that exists. Pour out upon us the power of your love, that we may protect life and beauty. Fill us with your peace, that we may live as true brothers and sisters, harming no one.
O God of the poor, help us to rescue the abandoned and forgotten of this earth, so precious in your eyes. Bring healing to our lives that we may protect the world and not prey on it, that we may sow beauty not pollution or destruction. Encourage us, we pray, in our struggle, for justice, love and peace. Amen.
