Listening and Discussion: WMOF.
Two Important Events.
In preparation for the Celebration of the World Meeting of Families two important events will take place in the Parish:
a. A Listening Process – giving all the people of the Diocese an opportunity to reflect on and discuss the meaning of Church for them at this time, and
b. Discussion Groups/s on Pope Francis' Letter: "Amoris Laetitia – The Joy of Love".
These events will probably take place during Lent.
Pope Francis on Marriage and Family:
"Raising children calls for an orderly process of handing on the faith. This is made difficult by current lifestyles, work schedules and the complexity of today's world, where many people keep up a frenetic pace just to survive. Even so, the home must continue to be the place where we learn to appreciate the meaning and beauty of the faith, to pray and to serve our neighbour."
(Amoris Laetitia 287)
Focus on the Family:
"We might think of a church building as a place where God is present but not think of our homes in the same way. We might see the rituals of the Church as speaking to us about God but not realise that the patterns of our own lives and the created world also speak to us of God. The spirituality of family life challenges us to see all of life as a piece, faith and life flowing together, God as present as the air we breathe." – Bairbre Cahill, Exploring Amoris Laetitia.
