Voice of the Parish
Voice of the Parish
The "Voice of the Parish" group wants to encourage and promote activities which will enrich all our lives. They have already met a few times to discuss, very informally, ideas and needs. The development of the parish website is a valuable accompaniment to this endeavour. The meetings are limited to one hour in length, are not restricted to any set agenda, and are open to all who wish to attend.
The following are suggestions which have been made by the group to date:
That other parish clubs/groups send delegates to participate in the "Voice of the Parish".
That those in the various Parish Ministries participate together in the "Voice of the Parish".
A parents' group to support each other – including the use of guest speakers to address issues like the new schools' religion programme etc.
A prayer group – which could include intercessions for special intentions.
A Bible study group.
A faith discussion group.
Parish involvement in events connected with the current "Year of Mercy".
Activities to broaden the faith experience for young people and others.
Activities to improve the involvement of all age groups in community life.
A drama group.
Yoga classes.
A music group.
Short term projects, say 6 weeks, designed to achieve particular goals.
Classes to promote good mental health, mindfulness, etc.
We do not expect to achieve all of the above, but the list certainly contains some worthy proposals. The more people are involved in the "Voice of the Parish", the better.
