Confessions for Easter:

(b) The priest will be available for Confession in the side aisles or sanctuary after the Masses on these weekends as well.

Palm Sunday: Blessed palms may be collected on the seats at the back of the churches on Saturday 27th, Sunday 28th and any day during the following week.

Parish Masses:  During the Level Five restrictions it is intended to continue parish Masses in both churches, with ‘drive in’ attendance only. Please note that all Masses in Boherlahan will be live streamed.

  • Weekend Masses  Boherlahan Sat 7.30pm / Sun 11.00am; Dualla Sat 6.30pm / Sun 9.30am
  • Weekday Masses will be in Boherlahan: Monday to Friday at 10.00am.

Live Streaming of Masses: Each Mass from Immaculate Conception Church, Boherlahan, will be live streamed during Covid restrictions. Follow these easy steps to connect to it: 1. Start a search in Google by typing ‘churchcamlive.ie/boherlahan’; 2. Press the play button in the centre of the screen.

Season of Lent: Lent challenges me in three ways: Personal. How am I living the Christian life?  Am I serious about avoiding sin and practising virtue? Communal:  How do I treat my family, the people I live with, work with, neighbours?  Universal: Do I reach out to the poor and those on the margins of society? Taking home a Trócaire Box and contributing to the poor of our world would be one way. The Trócaire boxes are available on the seats in the back of the church.

‘Preparing for New Life’ – Lenten Reflections: Sr Therese Fitzgerald (Sister of Sion) continues to share online 7:30pm to 9pm each Monday until 29 March.  A contribution of €15 is requested, covering all six evenings. Registration is open at this link: www.surveymonkey.com/r/LentenReflections.

Second Collection: Next weekend is the date for our Second Collection to help us in meeting our Diocesan targets. It would be traditionally our Easter Priests Collection. As I have stated before all nine collections together meet the targets set for the parish. We thank you sincerely for your support and loyalty even in these difficult times. We pray and hope that the Lord will reward you for your kindness and generosity.

Newsletter Notices: please forward by Wednesday evening any items for the newsletter to either of the priests or at the usual email address: boduparish@gmail.com These will be included in the online newsletter which will be posted each week on www.boherlahandualla.ie during the pandemic restrictions.

Emergencies: during the Covid-19 restrictions, Fr Dunne remains on-call to respond to emergencies e.g. sacrament of the sick. Please telephone him at 083-4854776.

The family Trócaire Box is a visible expression of almsgiving in Lent. Almsgiving challenges us to see working for justice and peace as central to our faith. Assisting those in need ‘is no longer a matter of charity but of simple justice’ (Irish Bishops’ Letter on Justice). By giving to Trócaire we all assist in building a more just world. Trócaire Boxes are available on seats at the end of the church.

Boherlahan and Dualla: the Parish at Prayer:

  • Copies of a leaflet titled ‘Prayers in Times of Insecurity and Anxiety,’ and for use during the Covid-19 crisis, are available in each church. Other prayer options are available as well on the website
  • The churches in Boherlahan and Dualla will remain open for private prayer each day, and the Blessed Sacrament will be reserved in the tabernacles
  • Parishioners should feel free to go to either church for private prayer e.g. the rosary, stations of the cross, or other devotions
  • If you enter a church and other people are there, please observe the HSE’s current guidelines regarding physical distancing i.e. two metres apart
  • Each Mass is live-streamed from Immaculate Conception Church, Boherlahan throughout the current restrictions. Local radio station Tipp Mid West broadcasts Sunday Mass at 11.00am.

Lenten Reflections with Monks of Glenstal: Join a live online talk by Columba McCann OSB at 2.00pm on Saturday 27 Mar at www.glenstal.com/abbey/webcam and click ‘Talks’. The theme of this week’s talk is Benedictine Prayer. This will be the final talk in the series.

Prayer to St Roch (Protector against infectious diseases)

O Blessed St Roch, Patron of the sick, look with mercy on those who suffer illness. Your power was so great when you were in this world, that by the sign of the Cross, many were healed of their diseases. Now that you are in heaven, your power is no less. Offer to God our intentions and tears and obtain for us the physical and spiritual health we seek. This we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. St Roch: Pray for us, that we may be relieved from all diseases of body and soul.
