Week of Prayer for Christian Unity: 18-25 January 2023. The theme for 2023 is taken from Isaiah “Do Good; Seek Justice”. Isaiah challenged God’s people in his day to learn to do good together, to seek justice together, to rescue the oppressed together, to defend the orphan and defend the widow together. The prophet’s challenge applies equally to us today. We are invited to engage together in the struggle for justice in our society. We all belong to Christ.

Sacrament of Confirmation: Thursday 11th May is the date of Confirmation in the parish this year. We will probably have two ceremonies. We are asking people of the parish to pray for the young people receiving the Sacrament. If you would like to be a Faith Friend and pray for one of those young people please sign the Faith Friends form in the porch of the church.

Boherlahan-Dualla Parish Pastoral Team: The Parish Pastoral Team will meet on next Wed. eve.18th Jan. in the Parochial House at 8pm.

Appreciation and Thanks: I wish to express my sincere thanks to the people of Boherlahan-Dualla for the very pleasant farewell evening before Christmas. I thank everybody associated with organising the Mass and the reception afterwards in the Community Hall and my special thanks to those who attended. I am deeply grateful to you all, and wish you every blessing for 2023 – Fr.Tom Dunne.

Renewal Prayer.

Holy Spirit, refresh the face of the earth;

and refresh tired hopes, dull love, broken

trust, with gentle confidence, with new

visions of each other, with a belief in

goodness. Refresh and renew us.

Refresh our countries, with compassion in

politics, with peace based on justice,

with respect for the dignity of all,

and a genuine care for those in need,

and policies to end inequality.

Refresh families with tolerance,

Communities with openness,

Whole neighbourhoods with involvement;

Refresh our prayer with your love.

our sorrow with your forgiveness, our generosity

with your call.

Refresh us, renew us, renew the

face of the earth. Amen.
