Ash Wednesday is fast approaching (February 26).
The Trócaire boxes have arrived and are available in the porches of the church. Please take one home and if you know of any neighbour that might wish to help the poor during Lent, take one for them as well.
The family Trócaire Box is a visible expression of almsgiving in Lent. Almsgiving challenges us to see working for justice and peace as central to our faith. Assisting those in need ‘is no longer a matter of charity but of simple justice’ (Irish Bishops’ Letter on Justice). By giving to Trócaire we all assist in building a more just world.
