County Even Age Juvenile Athletics – Newport Sunday 3rd October 2021

The inaugural Juvenile Dualla Ballytarsna Boherlahan (DBB) AC event was held on Sunday 3rd October in Newport, Co. Tipperary. We had 21 athletes competing. While the day started out incredibly wet it thankfully dried up in Newport and remained mostly dry for our races.

First up we had the U10 girls where we had Dearbhla Hickey finish 13th, Emma Fitzgerald 17th and Robyn Ryan 22nd. The girls ran incredibly well. Next we had the boys U10 where we had just one athlete competing, Cian O’ Donnell who ran a brilliant race to finish 3rd place. Well done Cian!! Our girls U12 were next up and they were fantastic. First home for the club and 1st place went to Aoife O’ Donnell. Aoife ran a superb race and led from the start, well done Aoife! Leah O’ Connell was home next in 3rd place,and ran a great race. Next up we had Grace Power 15th and Nicole Tarrant in 19th. These girls combined well to win a silver team medal, well done girls. The U12 boys were up next and we had 7 athletes competing. First home was Bobby Mc Loughlin in 9th place, Harry Ryan 11th, Daniel Burke 13th, Dara Crosse 15th, Ben Fitzgerald 16th, Michael Mc Carthy 31st and Niall Fitzgerald 33rd. Bobby, Harry, Daniel and Dara combined well to win the team Bronze U12 Boys. Our U14 girls were next and they ran a brilliant race. First home for the club was Sophie Moynihan in 5th place, Ruth O’ Connell in 6th and Mollie Maher in 12th. Well done girls. Rory Crosse ran a superb race to finish 2nd in the U14 Boys. Also running was Cian Fitzgerald who finished 11th. Our final athlete to compete was Daire O’ Donnell in the U16 Boys and he ran a strong race to finish 3rd. Well done to all our athletes for competing today, their parents and guardians for supporting them and of course none of this is possible without the incredibly hard work of our committee members and coaches.

County Juvenile Uneven Age Cross Country

Dualla Ballytarsna Boherlahan AC had 23 athletes compete in the county uneven age juvenile cross country in Galbally on Sunday 10th October 2021. In lovely sunny conditions first off we had the girls U9, Robyn Ryan was 17th, Aoibheann Lacey 19th, Kamryn O Connor 32nd and Caoimhe Hickey (running for Dundrum AC) 33rd. Next up were the boys U9 Dylan Phelan was 1st home for the club in 8th place, James Ryan had a tremendous sprint finish to place 13th, Eanna Moynihan 16th and Lorcan Harrington 17th. These boys combined well to win the bronze team medal, well done boys!! Leah O’Connell ran a wonderful race for the girls U11 to finish 1st, Mae Kennedy was 7th, Dearbhaile Hickey 25th and Emma Fitzgerald (running for Clonmel AC) was 33rd. U11 boys next and 1st home for the club was Donnacha Harrington in 9th, Dara Crosse in 11th, Cian O’ Donnell 13th and Jack Maher 22nd. Girls U13 ran next and Aoife O’ Donnell ran a superb race to finish in 1st place, Sophie Moynihan 5th and Ruth O’ Connell in 8th. Great running girls. Boys U13 next and 1st home for the club after a sprint finish was Rory Crosse in 2nd place, Fionn Ivors (running for Dundrum AC) was 8th and Eoin Shevlin was 9th. Daire O’ Donnell ran a super race in the boys U15 to finish 2nd place. Well done to all involved.
