Congratulations to the Boherlahan-Dualla parishioners who completed the Dublin City Marathon on Sunday 29th October in fantastic times. A great achievement for them all. For some it was their first marathon and it also included two couples: Evelyn Ryan, Thurlesbeg and her husband, James Curry; and Corrie Dwyer and her husband, Neville O'Connell.
Ballytarsna-Ballinree was strongly represented by Teresa Moloney O'Connor who now lives in Rathcowen. She was the first of our ladies home, followed by Mary Flynn Kennedy, Marshalstown. Corrie Dwyer and Aine O'Dwyer Crosse, together with their running partner, Sinead Butler Ryan, Castlemoyle were the 'newbies' in the race. Neville O'Connell came in with a personal best, followed soon afterwards by Tiernan O'Donnell. Weather and ground conditions were good for the race, but all athletes faced into a cold headwind for the last six miles which made it a tough test of stamina.
