Bishop Gleeson was born in Dualla on the 15th January 1869. The Gleesons lived in Rathclough, Dualla where I now live.
He was ordained a priest in Maitland, Australia on the 18th June 1893 at the age of 24. On the 8th of July 1905 he was professed a priest of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer. He was now 36. On the 31st of May 1929 at the age of 60 he was appointed Coadjutor Bishop of Maitland, Australia and Titular Bishop of Vatarba. On the 28th of March 1931 at the age of 62 he succeeded to become Bishop of Maitland, Australia.
Sadly he passed away on the 4th March 1956 at the age of 87 years. Bishop Gleeson was a priest for 63 years, and a Bishop for 26 years.
