Legion of Mary July 2018 Bulletin.
Global Rosary Relay in the Parish Church, New Inn.
On June 8th, the Feast of the Sacred Heart, members of the Legion of Mary from Boherlahan-Dualla Praesidium, attended the Global Rosary Relay to pray for Priests in New Inn Church. Prior to that, the Rosary was recited in Fatima and from there it was announced that the Relay of the Rosary would continue with the recitation of the Rosary in Ireland in the Parish of New Inn, Cashel, Co. Tipperary. This special Rosary was recited in each of the 4 Archdioceses and New Inn Parish was selected as the centre for the Cashel Archdiocese.
Fr. Michael Kennedy P.P., well known throughout Ireland among Legion of Mary members, together with parishioners, New Inn Parish Choir, and children and teachers from the local schools, provided all present with a prayerful and inspiring occasion. Among those present were Archbishop Kieran O’Reilly, Fr. Joe Egan P.P. and Fr. Tom Dunne C.C. Boherlahan, and Fr. Thomas Egan, as well as Legionary representatives of Praesidia from surrounding areas.
The message of Fatima, where Our Lady appeared six times in 1917 to the three shepherd children, was highlighted in the ceremony. On each of her visits Our Blessed Lady requested the recitation of the Rosary. As children were the recipients of the Fatima messages, children played a major role in the Rosary Relay in New Inn. Five children and one adult recited each of the decades of the Sorrowful Mysteries and the Infant Classes prayed the Glorias. As Fr. Michael led the commentary before each decade, symbols of Lights, Rosary Beads, Roses, Posters and Petals were presented at the Altar. The ceremony was most enriching and soul-searching.
At the conclusion Archbishop Kieran announced that the next Global Rosary Relay praying for Priests would be recited in a seminary in Indonesia.
